French Giant Paris Saint-Germain F.C. owners Qatar Sports Investments are actively looking to acquire another European football club and have targeted Premier League clubs if possible. The group has already held meetings with the England club Tottenham Hotspur.
The news was broken by CBS reporter Ben Jacobs reported Qatar Sports Investments is “ramping up efforts to find another team to minority-invest this year”.
QSI chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi had an exploratory meeting with Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy earlier this week to discuss the possible acquirement of the English club. However, the talks are still in the very initial phase and QSI is still exploring options as of now.
Other English giants like Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly on sale. But Qatar Sports Investments have not held any talks and meetings with the two rivals.
It is clear that Qatar Sports Investments wants to expand its sports influence just like Manchester City’s owner City Football Group which owns several football clubs around the globe.
QSI bought an initial 70% stake in PSG in 2011 for about €50 million and has been pumping money for success ever since.
