Cristiano Ronaldo was furious with the Referee after he was given a yellow card for scoring a CONTROVERSIAL goal.
Why was Ronaldo Booked Yellow Card?
Ten Hag’s Manchester United faced Newcastle United in the Gameweek 11 of the English Premier League. The match ended with a final scoreline of 0-0 as no one could score any goal despite creating multiple chances.
At the start of the second half, a very controversial thing happened which involved Ronaldo. In the 48th minute, Newcastle was awarded a freekick as a defender Fabian Schar touched the ball toward the goalkeeper, Nick Pope. However, Pope stood for a while as he thought he should start.
But, United’s forward Cristiano Ronaldo clearly thought the ball has already been played as he took the ball away from Pope and scored in the empty net.
Eventually, referee Craig Pawson booked the Portuguese forward after blowing the whistle before the ball touched the empty net.
Ronaldo and his teammates were furious with Craig who did not change his decision.
