Japan win against Germany

Germany’s quest to win the FIFA World Cup has gotten a shocking start as they have lost their first match of the tournament against the Japanese. It reminded me of Messi’s Argentina unexpected loss against Saudi Arabia yesterday.

Despite Germany taking a lead from Gundogan’s early penalty kick in the 33rd minute, Ritsu Doan and Takuma Asano’s goal in the late minute gave them a historical win.

Japan’s first victory against the German

With the victory, Japan recorded its first-ever victory against German in its history. Till now, the two teams have met 5 times among which 2 draws, 2 losses, and 1 victory.

The first time the two teams met was in October of 1963 when they both scored 1 goal each. Germany had its first win in 1968 after winning by 1-0.
