Juventus confirm that Paul Pogba has suffered a knee injury just 2 weeks after signing for the club. He rejoined the Serie A side this summer after his contract with Manchester United expired. It looks like he will have a “specialist orthopaedic consultation” to discover the extent of the problem.
The 29 years old midfielder complained of “pain in his right knee” and tests showed “a lesion of the lateral meniscus”. Pogba limped off the training field in Los Angeles and as a result, the player will not travel with the Italian side to Dallas as they continue their pre-season tour of the US. The Old Lady, Juventus said:
In the next few hours he will undergo a specialist orthopaedic consultation.
Therefore, in order to continue treatment, he is not taking part in the trip to Dallas.
It means the Frenchman will miss the friendly against Barcelona in Dallas on Tuesday. According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Pogba will need surgery and is set to miss two months. He played for Juventus in their first pre-season game when they beat Mexican side Chivas Guadalajara 2-0 in Las Vegas.
Juventus are trying to sign PSG star Leandro Paredes as soon as possible. They are set to kick off their Serie A campaign against Sassuolo on August 15. Massimiliano Allegri, Juventus manager hopes to have Pogba and Paredes both available to select in midfield.
