Real Madrid has confirmed that Sergio Ramos will depart from the club after 16 years. The club released a statement saying that Ramos will part away. The club has announced that there will be a farewell program as an act of tribute to the club’s captain.

The Official Statement States, “Real Madrid CF announces that tomorrow, Thursday, June 17, at 12:30 pm, there will be an institutional act of tribute and farewell to our captain Sergio Ramos, with the presence of our president Florentino Pérez.”

Then Sergio Ramos updated his Facebook cover photo saying thank you Real Madrid.

 

Ramos’s contract expires at the end of June and there were reports that the club was willing to give him an extension if he accepted a pay cut.

Sergio Ramos is the fourth player with the most games played for Real Madrid (469) and the second one with the most titles won in the Blancos history (22, alongside Sanchís and Marcelo), only surpassed by Paco Gento (23). Legend.
