Sterling only goal helped England to win against Croatia

Raheem Sterling’s second-half strike was enough to ensure that England kicked off Euro 2020 with a victory over Croatia. He scored in the 57th minutes of the game at Wembley.

Both teams played really well, both had chances but couldn’t find the net. Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden’s left-footed shot hits the right post in the 5th minute of the game. Croatia had a nice spell with the ball. The first half ended with a 0-0.

At the 57th minute, Phillips carries the ball ahead and passes it to Sterling who then slots it past Croatia goalkeeper Livakovic. Raheem Sterling has been directly involved in 19 goals in his last 17 England games (13 goals, 6 assists). England has won all 10 of the previous games he has scored in.

Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham becomes the youngest ever player to play in European Championship history as well as England’s youngest ever player to play in a major tournament.

England and Croatia are in Group D along with Scotland and Czech Republic. England’s next game is on June 19 against Scotland and the final game of the group stage is on June 23 against the Czech Republic.

Croatia’s next game is on June 18 against the Czech Republic and they play their final game of group stage against Scotland on June 23.
