Hakimi Panenka’s goal against Spain

Spain and Morocco met in the Round 16 of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Though both teams had equal chances, each of them failed to deliver as the 90 minutes ended 0-0. Though 30 minutes were added, the game ended goalless, resulting in a penalty.

Morocco’s Abdelhamid Sabiri and Hakim Ziyech both scored the first two penalties for the team, while both Pablo Sarabia and Carlos Soler missed both.

Both teams – Badr Benoun for Morocco and Busquets for Spain failed to score their third penalty. Now it was on Hakimi’s hand who did not dissatisfy his supporters as he hit one of the coldest penalties, that too in such crucial moments.

With the win, Morocco has become the first African team to go into Quarters since the 2010 World Cup.
