Barcelona star striker Robert Lewandoski has already played two club preseason games against Real Madrid and Juventus in the USA. But the striker is yet to deliver his first goal. His performance is not that like we used to see him at Bayern Munich. So is he struggling at the Barca gameplay?
The polish forward signed for the Catalan club for €45 million plus €5 million in add-ons. Fans and the club have high expectations from the player as he is one of the greatest strikers of this generation. Barcelona manager Xavi after the two games of Lewandoski has said,
We [the players] need to search for Lewandoski more often.
Robert Lewandowski will be 34 by next month. He has attempted several shots in his first two preseason games, but he has had few clear-cut chances so far.
Xavi added:
When they press us high, we have to find him more to keep and to play him in the direction of the game and settle him in the opponent’s half, which is our objective.
Xavi has a lot of options to play at the forward position. He continues experimenting with his frontline trio, so maybe the Lewandoski still needs some time to adapt to those swift changes.
